It was raining very hard today...and the light quality prduced by the thunderstorm was so unusual, I decided to try and capture raindrops striking pavement. My driveway is under there somewhere - like I said, it is raining hard.

Nice picture. Maybe a little dark but I guess it's always dark when it rains like that =P
The effect I like mostly in this picture is the shrouds of water from the craters edges. They look really nice.

Thank you...the wierd thing is that it was dark and very blue at 3pm

I like this a lot. I tried the same thing a while back and it didn't work. You have successfully managed to freeze a moment of that thunderstorm in time. It almost looks like a lunar landscape or something. Nice job!

Nice raining shot there! I don't have any rain shots yet, it keeps raining over here but it's like... Yucky downpouring rain that would drown my camera and isn't very nice to take a picture of anyways. And lightning... Been trying to get that too, so hard>_<

Anywaayss you seem to have captured the moment well. Good job:D Very pretty and peaceful.

I considered taking a simular picture of this a few days back, except it was only a small puddle in the backyard ^^ I like this, you captured a great moment. It is very neat to see the way the water is splashing up, like little explosion, definately something you have to stare at.

i SOoooooooooooooooooooooooO love the rain. and you captured it here in a such a cool gloomy dark way... :b0x0rz:

Oh, love this one! The light and colours is indeed unusual, one can practically smell the wetness in the air from just looking at the picture. And I love those little crowns made by the drops hitting the surface... Great!
:icondavsimon:
Well thank you..I really like the color, but after giving it more though - it is amazing how hard it was raining. The shutter speed was very high (around 10/600ths of a sec.) I can't believe how many impacts there were in a split second.

a very soothing and crisp picture. i'm not an expert on borders or frames but i think if you had something less fuzzy there it might enhance the image. anyway its great overall. nice job.
